The Scottish Countryside Alliance Educational Trust (SCAET) was set up as a Scottish charity in 2003 by the Scottish Countryside Alliance, in response to the very obvious need to reconnect the people of Scotland with its countryside. We realised the need to increase knowledge, awareness and appreciation of the countryside within the largely urban Scottish population.

The Scottish Countryside Alliance promotes the interests of rural people, including all field sports (hunting, shooting, fishing, falconry, ferreting, coursing, stalking), sensible wildlife management, and wider countryside concerns such as jobs, landscapes and freedoms. It represents these interests in the media, in Parliament, in schools and throughout Scotland.

The natural heritage is one of Scotland's biggest assets. Our role is to look after Scotland's wildlife and scenery, help people to enjoy and value it, and encourage people to use it sustainably.

Scotland's Moorland Forum was established by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) in March 2002. It consists of 22 member organisation and five observer organisations, all of which have signed up to a Statement of Intent setting out clear objectives and targets for moorland conservation and management in Scotland. The Forum seeks a sustainable future for moorland through collaborative work.
